Manu Ríos pivots from heartthrob to protector in My Dearest Señorita, playing Gato, a street-smart confidant who becomes Adela’s “chosen family” in 1999 Madrid.

His role is central to the film’s exploration of queer community, offering Adela vital emotional support as she navigates her intersex identity.

Shedding his polished persona for a 90s goth aesthetic – complete with jet-black hair and heavy eyeliner – Ríos delivers a grounded, counter-culture performance alongside a cast that includes Anna Castillo and Lola Rodríguez.

By casting Ríos in this transformative, supportive capacity, producers  aim to bring mainstream visibility to a narrative of authentic intersex representation.

Following a limited theatrical run, his performance arrives on Netflix globally on May 1, 2026.
