The West Hollywood Recovery Center Log Cabin just turned 90. We asked these clean and sober folks their thoughts and feelings on the space that has served thousands of people in recovery for several decades

SO INFLUENTIAL
“They say it’s always darkest before the dawn. I went from sleeping on the front steps of the Log Cabin to having a place of my own—just by going to meetings and holding onto hope. When I was at my lowest, someone opened the door in the morning, and it went from cold and dark to warm and vibrant. The Cabin has been so influential that nearly everyone in LA recovery knows it. It will be wonderful to see the new cabin built and the new hope it brings. You feel a 90-year spiritual energy here; when you feel all alone at sea, just remember you’re not alone.”

SAFELY VULNERABLE

I used to be homeless and slept on these very steps, never realizing what the building was. Coming back housed, sober, and able to share my story in a place that became so pivotal to my life has been incredibly powerful.”

DIFFERENT WORLD

It created a room of safety whose classic vibe made me feel like I was in a whole different world inside West Hollywood.”
