In the SXSW documentary Manhood, director Daniel Lombroso investigates the booming, high-stakes world of cosmetic enhancement through the lens of Dallas entrepreneur Bill Moore.
Moore is the mastermind behind the PhaloFILL procedure, a controversial practice attempting to make penis enlargement as casual, accessible, and commonplace as a few quick spritzes of Botox.
While pitched as an ultimate quick-fix solution to deep-seated male insecurities, the film reveals that the procedure is not without its complications. The documentary intimately follows an OnlyFans star and a father of five as they put their bodies on the line, capturing the raw, complex emotional aftermath and vulnerability that follows.
Blended with dark humor and unexpected empathy, Manhood explores the fragile myths of American masculinity.
Following its world premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival and a run in select cinemas via World of Wonder Films (including a special run at the IFC Center), the film is rolling out in theaters.
Manhood arrives on video-on-demand (VOD) streaming platforms starting November 17, 2026.
