While there is wide support for additional stimulus payments among Democratic lawmakers, it seems like, at the moment at least, no second stimulus payment is on its way, reports Yahoo.
House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer just canceled next week’s planned session on the advice of Congress’s attending physician.
There are some mechanisms with which the House can get things done without most of its members present, but the hundreds of billions of dollars involved in another potential stimulus payment means passage while the House isn’t even in session is pretty much impossible.
President Trump, for what it’s worth, said last week that future payments are “under serious consideration,” but you know, that’s Trump talk.
