Televangelist Pat Robertson has issued a super serious alert to the nation. He said he expects the United States to be engulfed by an “atomic war” if the Equality Act passes, reports Pink News.
The act—which seeks to strengthen the rights of LGBT+ people—has been heavily criticized by a number of right-wing and religious commentators in recent months.
Speaking on his show, The 700 Club, Robertson said viewers should contact their representatives and ask them to vote against the Equality Act.
“They always give good names to these things,” Robertson said of the act.
“This is a devastating blow to religious freedom and to the sanctity of America. If you want to bring the judgement of God on this nation, you keep this stuff up,” he continued.
“I was reading in Leviticus where it said because of these things the land will vomit you out. Vomit you out. I think God will say, ‘I’ve had it with America, if you do this kind of stuff I’m going to get rid of you as a nation.’”
