Club Kid, writer-director Jordan Firstman’s feature debut, is a 35mm New York City dramedy following Peter, a burned-out gay club promoter whose chaotic nightlife is upended when he suddenly learns he has a 10-year-old son, Arlo, following the death of the boy’s mother.
Unprepared for fatherhood, Peter must navigate sobriety and raising his son alongside a chaotic circle of friends—including his business partner, Sophie—while developing a relationship with Oscar, the social worker assigned to their case.
The film features a cast that includes Firstman, Reggie Absolom, Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Miss Benny.
Following its premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, A24 acquired the picture for $17 million, with a U.S. theatrical release scheduled for November 6, 2026.
Critical reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with reviewers praising the film’s authentic depiction of NYC nightlife, its sharp humor, and the surprisingly emotional dynamic between Firstman and Absolom.
