DTLA Proud Returns August 28–30: The Ultimate Downtown LA Guide

Organized as a 100% volunteer-run initiative, the three-day DTLA Proud Festival reinvests all ticket proceeds directly back into local LGBTQ+ artists, performers, and year-round community programming across Downtown LA.

The festivities kick off on Friday night, August 28, with an official 21+ opening celebration and community bar crawl spotlighting local LGBTQ+-owned nightlife venues, including spots like Precinct, New Jalisco, and KISO.

On Saturday, August 29, the event shifts to an all-ages gathering at Los Angeles State Historic Park from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.The free PROUD Picnic in the Park features queer DJ sets, local food vendors, a mobile public library, art installations, and interest-based community meetups designed to celebrate accessible public spaces.

The weekend reaches its climax on Sunday, August 30, at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes with the main DTLA Proud Festival and SUMMERTRAMP outdoor water party.Running from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM (21+), the final day brings together live music, drag shows, local vendors, and the “Activist Alley” resource hub.
