RuPaul is set to star in an untitled action-comedy film set in the universe of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The movie, which is scheduled for a 2026 theatrical release, will be directed by Adam Shankman, known for his work on films like Hairspray and A Walk to Remember.
While the exact title has not been revealed, the plot follows two best friends and train stewardesses, Tess and DeeDee, who leave their “dreary shifts on the Stank Rail” for the luxurious “Glamazonian Express.”
When a catastrophic storm threatens to derail the high-speed train, the duo must team up with first-class passengers and President Judy Gagwell, played by RuPaul, to save the day.
In a statement, RuPaul expressed his excitement for the role, calling President Judy Gagwell “the part I was born to play.” The film is being produced by World of Wonder, the production company behind the Drag Race franchise, and will begin principal photography in Los Angeles in the fall.
