Gay Romance Novel “See You at the Finish Line” to Be Adapted for TV

The popular gay campus romance novel, See You at the Finish Line, by Zac Hammett is being adapted into a television series.

Noho Film & Television, the production company behind the Channel 4 comedy The Windsors, has acquired the rights to the novel.

The book is an enemies-to-lovers story centered on two Cambridge University rowers, George and Lucas. George is a charming but academically struggling American import, while Lucas is a disciplined and hardworking student.

The two are forced to form an unlikely partnership: George needs Lucas’s help to pass his exams, and Lucas wants George’s help to get the attention of his crush, Amir. Their reluctant alliance soon develops into a more complicated romantic relationship.

Noho Film & Television’s co-founders, Robert Wulff-Cochrane and Camilla Campbell, have praised Hammett’s novel, calling it a “perfectly crafted love story between two outsiders.”

They plan to assemble a creative team to begin development on the series. While no release date or cast has been announced, the novel’s word-of-mouth success has led to significant fan speculation about who will portray the lead characters.

The series is being compared to the successful film adaptation of the queer romance novel Red, White & Royal Blue.
