Netflix has released the full-length trailer for Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City, and Laura Linney’s Mary Ann Singleton has a secret to reveal to her on-screen daughter Shawna, played by Ellen Page, reports The Wrap.
Linney is reprising the role she originated in the ’90s TV miniseries based on Maupin’s novel series of the same name. Olympia Dukakis will also return to her role as Anna Madrigal, along with Barbara Garrick as DeDe Halcyon Day and Paul Gross as Brian Hawkins.
Per Netflix’s description: Mary Ann (Linney) returns to present-day San Francisco and is reunited with her daughter Shawna (Page) and ex-husband Brian (Gross), 20 years after leaving them behind to pursue her career. Fleeing the midlife crisis that her picture-perfect Connecticut life created, Mary Ann is quickly drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal (Dukakis), her chosen family and a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.
