Artists and creators have a unique opportunity to sketch inside a historic bastion of queer culture this weekend.
On Sunday, June 7, from Noon to 3pm, the Tom of Finland Foundation will host its latest Life Drawing Session at the iconic TOM House in Echo Park.
Led by instructor Rex Kung, the three-hour workshop invites participants to capture the human form through live male model sets executing a mix of classical poses and unapologetic homoerotic aesthetics.
Artists will draw surrounded by generations of radical erotic art history inside the 1911 Craftsman home, which served as the residence and studio of Tom of Finland himself.
Because seating is strictly limited to maintain an intimate working environment, advance registration is highly recommended.
The session operates under a strict bring your own art supplies policy, though light refreshments will be served during breaks. Attendees must be 18 or older, and all proceeds directly benefit the non-profit foundation’s mission to archive erotic art and support queer creators.
