Karamo Brown Withdraws from “Queer Eye” Press Tour Citing Years of Emotional Abuse

On January 20, 2026, the Queer Eye press tour for the show’s 10th and final season began with a notable absence.

Karamo Brown, the show’s culture and lifestyle expert, abruptly pulled out of scheduled live interviews on both CBS Mornings and Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, releasing statements that alleged a long-term pattern of “mental and emotional abuse.”

The news surfaced live on air when CBS Mornings host Gayle King informed viewers that Karamo had canceled his appearance less than an hour before taping.

King read a statement from Karamo’s assistant explaining that he was “worried about being bullied.”

Karamo later shared a video message and an email to the Today show, stating he has “felt mentally and emotionally abused for years” and was advised by his therapist to “protect his peace” by not attending the joint interviews.

While Karamo did not explicitly name his costars as the source of the abuse, the timing and social media activity have fueled intense speculation:

Fans quickly noted that Karamo has unfollowed Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Jonathan Van Nesson Instagram.

Notably, he still follows the newest cast member, Jeremiah Brent, and former host Bobby Berk.

Live on air, Antoni Porowski admitted that “surprised is a fair understatement,” while Jonathan Van Ness stated they were “proud” of Karamo for centering his own needs.

The allegations suggest that the behind-the-scenes reality of the show differed significantly from its onscreen message of radical kindness.

Karamo’s mention of abuse lasting “for years” aligns with previous reports of friction, including the high-profile exit of Bobby Berk in 2023 and a 2024 exposé regarding workplace environment.

Despite the turmoil, Karamo encouraged fans to still watch the 10th season (set in Washington, D.C.), praising the crew and Netflix executives while pointedly omitting his fellow cast members from his thanks.
