FEDERAL COURT BLOCKS IDAHO’S RESTRICTIVE BATHROOM BILL

In a major legal victory for transgender advocacy, a federal judge partially blocked Idaho’s House Bill 752. The law had aimed to impose steep criminal penalties—including potential prison time—on transgender individuals using government or public restrooms that align with their gender identity. The federal injunction prevents the enforcement of the law, ensuring that transgender individuals can continue to safely access these facilities.

COLORADO BROADENS PROTECTIONS AGAINST CONVERSION THERAPY

Governor Jared Polis signed House Bill 26-1322 into law, creating a robust private right of action for victims of conversion therapy. The new law prevents licensed therapists from predetermining a patient’s outcome regarding sexual orientation or gender identity. Crucially, it eliminates the statute of limitations for victims and allows families to seek legal recourse up to five years after a victim’s passing, establishing some of the strongest anti-conversion therapy protections in the nation.

BROAD PUBLIC SUPPORT REVEALED IN 2026 PRIDE POLL

A comprehensive national poll released by GLAAD on June 1 highlighted a supermajority of public support for the LGBTQ+ community among registered U.S. voters:

74% stated they support political candidates who explicitly reject discrimination.

68% of U.S. adults agree that brands and corporations should be entirely free to show public support for the LGBTQ+ community and sell Pride merchandise.

65% of voters expressed that they view political focus on transgender restrictions as a distraction from pressing economic issues like the cost of living.

DEFEAT OF RESTRICTIVE STATE BILLS

In states that have historically seen heavy pushes for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, grassroots advocacy successfully killed several restrictive bills before they could become law. Most notably, in Indiana, tireless pushback from local advocates and lawmakers successfully halted a targeted piece of legislation aimed at restricting the rights of transgender residents, preventing it from making it out of the state legislature.
