This year, we celebrated 10 years of spreading optimism, growing our community, and expanding the definition of diversity in Downtown LA. Now, together, we’re building the next decade!
First, I want to say thank you. To every volunteer, collaborator, artist, vendor, ally, and community member: You are the reason DTLA Proud exists. I didn’t create this on my own and I couldn’t have done it alone. We built this organization brick by brick together.
From our annual festival with SUMMERTRAMP, to opening the ART Center @ The Bloc, to the countless events, performances, and activations that brighten up our neighborhood, we’ve proven that our community makes the impossible possible. Now, more than ever, we need to come together to protect and expand what we’ve built. This is our moment.
As the Founder & Executive Director of DTLA Proud, I do not take a salary. We do not have a staff and we keep our operating costs to a minimum. Everything achieved through our organization is through the political will of our community to mobilize and leverage DTLA Proud’s resources.
Our vision for the future is bold: 365 days of LGBTQ+ community, connection, and celebration throughout all of DTLA. And we’re committed to keeping it all free and accessible for everyone. Because 100% of our organization is volunteer-led, 100% of the funds we generate goes directly to the programs, events, and services that engage, educate, and empower our community.
