The prolonged wait for Season 2 of Prime Video’s Overcompensating was briefly overshadowed this week by its star and creator, Benito Skinner (a.k.a. Benny Drama), who posted a viral shirtless selfie.

The photo, which quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of likes, sent fans into a frenzy of reactions across social media.

The reaction highlights the intense anticipation for the second season of Overcompensating, which was renewed in September but is not expected to air until mid-to-late 2026.

Overcompensating is a comedy series on Prime Video created by and starring Skinner.

The show is a semi-autobiographical story centered on Benny, a gay man from Idaho attending the University of Idaho in 2007.

The series follows Benny as he attempts to “overcompensate” for his feelings of isolation and inadequacy by over-committing to extracurriculars and trying to project a perfect image.
