Heartstopper Forever, the feature-length cinematic finale wrapping up Nick and Charlie’s story, is officially set to premiere on Netflix on July 17, 2026.
Clocking in at 1 hour and 51 minutes, the film bridges the gap into adulthood by adapting Volume 6 of the graphic novels alongside the Nick and Charlie novella.
The plot explores the bittersweet reality of long-distance relationships as Nick prepares for university and Charlie finds new independence at school, pushing their bond to its ultimate test.
Creator Alice Oseman, who penned the script, noted that the movie format allows for a more atmospheric and sophisticated conclusion, though it will slightly diverge from the exact timeline of the books to deliver a fresh, deeply emotional take on endings and beginnings.
Behind the scenes, post-production has officially wrapped under the direction of Wash Westmoreland, and lead stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke have stepped up as executive producers to help guide their characters’ final chapter.
The finale also brings a significant casting change: due to scheduling conflicts, Olivia Colman will not return as Nick’s mother, Sarah Nelson, with Anna Maxwell Martin stepping into the role alongside legendary actor Derek Jacobi in an undisclosed part.
Giving fans a taste of what’s to come, Netflix recently released a wave of gorgeous first-look images, including a standout still of Nick and Charlie sharing a tender moment on a neon-lit dance floor, setting the stage for a memorable and beautiful farewell.
