Kit Connor Wins His First Emmy For “Heartstopper”

Kit Connor

Kit Connor has received his first-ever Emmy for his performance as Nick Nelson in Netflix’s Heartstopper, reports Them.

The 18-year-old won the trophy for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Preschool, Children’s, or Young Teen Program at the first annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards on Sunday. Although Connor wasn’t present at the ceremony, his Hearstopper costars Sebastian Croft and Will Gao accepted the award on his behalf.

Since Heartstopper premiered on Netflix in May, Connor has received acclaim for his portrayal of Nick, a young rugby player who questions his sexuality after developing feelings for his gay classmate Charlie (Joe Locke). By the end of Season 1, Nick comes out to his mom as bisexual, with plans to come out to others on his own terms.
