As Netflix rolls out its heavy-hitting lineup for October 2026, streaming enthusiasts and cinema fans have plenty to celebrate.
Among the major licensed additions heading to the platform this month, the cultural phenomenon and Academy Award Best Picture winner Moonlight (2016) stands out as the ultimate spotlight title.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the landmark 2016 drama remains a critical benchmark in queer cinema. Chronicling the life of Chiron through three defining chapters of his youth, adolescence, and early adulthood in Miami, the film is celebrated for its tender, poetic exploration of Black masculinity, identity, and first love.
