LA FUENTE CELEBRATES 21 YEARS OF COMMUNITY RECOVERY

La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center celebrates 21 years of service with an anniversary gathering on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 5718 Fountain Ave. The sober celebration features music by DJ Eddie X, food, anniversary cake, and giveaways, bringing the community together to honor more than two decades of LGBTQ+ recovery support. Parking is available at the high school directly across the street.

HRC PALM SPRINGS GARDEN PARTY CELEBRATES 25 YEARS

The Human Rights Campaign Palm Springs-Coachella Valley Garden Party turns 25 with its “Silver Palm Edition” on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Dinah Shore Estate. Taking place during Palm Springs Pride weekend (Nov. 6–8)—themed “Be Included”—the milestone event celebrates community history while advancing the movement.

JEWISH LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY DEMONSTRATES OUTSIDE PRIDE OFFICES

Members of San Diego’s Jewish LGBTQ+ community demonstrated Aug. 23 outside the San Diego Pride offices, raising concerns over alleged antisemitic incidents during recent Pride events. Organizers posted nine demands for the Board of Directors, calling for mandatory antisemitism training, a formal apology, bans on discriminatory displays, investigations into past incidents, and reinstated community town halls.

LONG BEACH LGBTQ CENTER PAUSES GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE

The LGBTQ Center Long Beach has paused its gender-affirming care program following the departure of key medical providers, referring affected patients to a partner clinic. While the Center continues offering STI screenings, contraception, and PrEP, the transition follows internal staffing turmoil. The board of directors has hired an independent investigator to address employee concerns.

LA EQUALITY AWARDS BRING FALL GALA SEASON TO CENTURY PLAZA

Equality California hosts its flagship gala, the Los Angeles Equality Awards, on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Fairmont Century Plaza. Hosted by drag icon Monét X Change, the evening honors Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur with the Equality Leadership Award, bringing together state lawmakers and advocates to mobilize resources ahead of the November elections.
