Three years after the grand opening of the Anita May Rosenstein Campus, the Los Angeles LGBT Center will celebrate the project’s original vision by bringing together LGBTQ+ youth and seniors for an intergenerational Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m.
Presented by Comcast NBCUniversal, the holiday event will invite guests of all ages to enjoy activities, giveaways, and a full-course meal prepared by the Center’s Culinary Arts program. Drag performers Charles Galin and Salina Estities will provide the afternoon’s entertainment, with special appearances by RuPaul Drag Race alums June Jambalaya and Kerri Colby.
“Our campus was developed to create spaces where connection and community-building happen across ages, and we are so pleased that this year we will host an in-person intergenerational Thanksgiving dinner after three years of isolation,” said Kiera Pollock, Director of Senior Services. “We’re excited to get back to hosting opportunities for chosen family to learn from each other.”
Hundreds of guests are expected at the event at Pride Hall, the centerpiece of the two-acre Anita May Rosenstein Campus. First conceived by Center leadership more than a decade ago as a single complex to serve the most vulnerable members of the LGBT community—seniors and youth—the Campus is home to many of the Center’s intergenerational services, including housing, the Harry & Jeannette Weinberg Senior Center, Youth Center, and The Ariadne Getty Foundation Youth Academy.
