Driven by Leo Reich’s sharp, unapologetic queer sensibility, the upcoming UK sitcom It Gets Worse (produced by A24 for Channel 4) follows three dysfunctional London roommates navigating housing insecurity, humiliating jobs, and chaotic hookups.
The series rejects sanitized coming-of-age tropes in favor of raw, subversive gay humor.
The buzz centers on a viral scene with Andrew Scott, who plays Ethan’s therapist and hookup match. During an intense session, Scott grabs Reich by the neck and delivers the infamous line, “You’re just a hole for daddy,” before kissing him and spitting in his mouth.
An official US release date or broadcast platform has not yet been formally announced.
Given that the series is produced by A24 and Reich’s previous special (Literally Who Cares?!) aired on Max, the show is widely expected to land on a major US platform like Max, Hulu, or Peacock following its UK run.
The series premieres at the BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2026, before its free broadcast rollout on Channel 4 in the UK.
