Jeremiah Brent, Nate Berkus with their children
Designer and television personality Nate Berkus, 54, recently offered a candid look into his marriage, explaining why he and his husband, fellow designer Jeremiah Brent, choose to maintain a monogamous relationship rather than explore an open marriage.
Appearing on the “We Met At Acme”podcast hosted by Lindsey Metselaar, Berkus acknowledged that their choice for fidelity is somewhat “rare” among their circle of friends. He revealed that he and Brent made a firm decision about their dynamic very early in their relationship.
Berkus attributed the choice to a fundamental sense of fulfillment, stating simply: “He’s all I need, and I’m all he needs.”
He shared that his own personality makes an open arrangement impossible, confessing: “I’m jealous. So that wouldn’t work at all.”
The conversation highlighted that despite being high-profile public figures who work together, travel frequently, and raise two children (Poppy and Oscar), their partnership is grounded in clarity, transparency, and intentional commitment to one another.
