Celebrating the Fabric of Community: 2026 Pride Reception in Oceanside

The North County LGBTQ Resource Center will host its annual Pride Reception on May 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM at 1919 Apple Street in Oceanside.

Now in its 19th year, this event serves as an intentional gathering to celebrate the elected officials, sponsors, and community members whose dedication has established Pride by the Beach as a cornerstone of visibility and belonging. Pride Director Roxanne Deatherage notes that this year’s theme, “The Fabric of Community,” highlights the essential role each individual plays in the collective movement.

The reception also serves as a platform to honor the region’s enduring legacies of activism. In memory of leader and champion Leea Pronovost, the Center will recognize a community member who embodies her spirit of service and advocacy. Additionally, the event will feature the presentation of the Linda Johnson Queer Youth Fund.

Continuing Linda’s commitment to the next generation, the Center will award eight students between the ages of 16 and 22 with $800 each. These needs-based grants are designed for maximum accessibility—requiring no GPA, test scores, or citizenship status—to assist local youth with tuition, supplies, or any materials necessary for their educational and career paths.
