From the Ice to the Stage: ‘Heated Rivalry” Musical Parody Heading to Off-Broadway

The digital frenzy surrounding Heated Rivalry has officially shifted into overdrive.

With Season 2 of the HBO smash hit still in the early stages of production, fans have found a new way to get their hockey-romance fix: “HEATED RIVALRY: THE UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY.”

Following a series of eight sold-out concert presentations earlier this year, producer and director Alan Kliffer announced that the show will transition to a full, staged Off-Broadway run. The production is set to take over the 6th Floor Theater (the former McKittrick Hotel) starting May 12, 2026, with an official opening night on May 26.

Written by Dylan MarcAurele (winner of the 2025 Jonathan Larson Grant), the musical doesn’t shy away from the steamy, campy nature of its source material. The official synopsis promises a “bop-infused” retelling of Shane Hollander’s journey from “power center to power bottom.”

The parody features a lineup of Broadway heavyweights, many of whom jokingly claimed they “thought they were auditioning for Season 2.”

Jimin Moon (Sunset Boulevard) stars as the golden boy, Shane Hollander.

Jay Armstrong Johnson (Parade) takes on the role of the enigmatic Ilya Rozanov.

The cast is rounded out by Ryann Redmond (Frozen), Cherry Torres (Hamilton), and Ryan Duncan (Titaníque).

While the TV series, starring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, isn’t expected to return until early 2027, the musical serves as a perfectly timed “Canada Dry” for a parched fandom.

The musical is scheduled for a strictly limited eight-week engagement through June 28.
