Contrary to what its title might suggest, the provocative new feature drama London hails from Brazil, marking the feature directorial debut of award-winning filmmaking duo Victor Di Marco and Márcio Picoli.
Di Marco delivers a commanding lead performance as the eponymous London, a young, disabled man navigating life, intimacy, and self-expression while making his living as a dominant performer at a local fetish club. Refusing to let his physical condition define his life, London embraces the vibrant rhythm of youth—dancing the night away and building connections alongside his close circle of friends. Yet, the persistent gaze of the outside world continually raises questions about how he is perceived: “I never know why people look at me,” he muses. “[Is it] because they think I’m handsome or ridiculous?”
His life reaches a critical turning point when he is offered a new cutting-edge medical imaging test that promises to deliver a definitive clinical diagnosis. Rather than offering clarity, the prospect of an exact medical label triggers an existential crisis, leaving London concerned that a clinical term will strip away his autonomy and reduce his multifaceted identity to a medical chart. Once handed the results, he stands at a pivotal crossroads: will he allow a medical label to govern his future, or will he continue living entirely on his own terms?
London currently has no scheduled U.S. theatrical release or festival screening dates.
Because the film is making its official world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in early September 2026, its international sales agent (The Open Reel) is presently taking the film to major market buyers.
A U.S. premiere will likely follow later in the 2026–2027 fall or spring festival circuit (such as NewFest, AFI Fest, Frameline, or Sundance) before securing a domestic distributor for wider release or streaming.
