Robbie G.K., “Heated Rivalry”
The highly anticipated crossover between Prime Video’s Overcompensating and the hit hockey romance Heated Rivalry was ultimately blocked by a classic Hollywood roadblock: conflicting production schedules.
Creator and star Benito Skinner revealed that he actively tried to recruit Heated Rivalry leads Hudson Williams and Robbie G.K.for guest-starring roles in Season 2, but both actors were fully booked. Their schedule was packed as they prepared to film their own second season across Montreal and Toronto.
This was a particularly tough break for fans of Robbie G.K., who had previously appeared in three episodes of OvercompensatingSeason 1 as Riley; Skinner was eager for a homecoming, but Robbie’s calendar simply wouldn’t permit it.
While “Outlook Calendar” served as the ultimate villain this time around, Skinner remains optimistic about the future. Though Overcompensating Season 2 wrapped filming without them, he has promised fans that he is determined to make a crossover happen down the line once the actors’ schedules align.
