Writer/director Dan Gilroy of Nightcrawler fame has reteamed with Jake Gyllenhaal in a new thriller – Velvet Buzzsaw – which sees the actor return to playing a gay role (again), reports Queerty.
As an art critic, Gyllenhaal begins experiencing a series of murderous supernatural events surrounding the work of a dead artist.
Velvet Buzzsaw also stars Rene Russo, Toni Collette, Zawe Ashton, Tom Sturridge, Natalia Dyer, Daveed Diggs, Billy Magnussen and John Malkovich.
It will have its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival on January 27. It is scheduled to be released on February 1, 2019, by Netflix, with a limited theatrical run.
