The NIGHT OUT gala, the signature annual fundraising event hosted by the national non-profit Family Equality, is set to return to Los Angeles on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The event, held at the contemporary Nya Studios West (1520 Wilcox Avenue), brings together a powerful coalition of advocates, artists, and allies for an evening dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ families, where the mission is to ensure that “joy meets justice.”

Family Equality will recognize several key figures who have championed LGBTQ+ visibility and family rights:

  • Visibility Award: Comedian, actor, and producer Tig Notaro and her wife, director, and writer Stephanie Allynne, will be presented with the prestigious Visibility Award. The honor recognizes the couple’s profound impact through their authentic representation of LGBTQ+ parenthood and family life.

  • Murray/Reese Family Award: Actor and comedian Alec Mapa and his husband Jamison Hebert will receive the Murray/Reese Family Award, celebrating their advocacy and commitment to building a family.

The gala serves as a crucial fundraising effort to support Family Equality’s mission: protecting and advancing the freedoms and equality of all LGBTQ+ families through advocacy, education, and community building.
