The Van Ness Recovery House is on a mission to update its historic facilities, launching a major fundraising effort tied to a unique athletic challenge.
A team of 40 participants, including alumni, friends, and family, will take on a demanding Spartan Race at Angel Stadium on September 20, 2025.
The group aims to raise $50,000 for the nonprofit, which has served the LGBTQ+ community for over 50 years.
To date, the team has raised over $23,000, achieving 46% of its goal. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Van Ness Recovery House, a vital sanctuary that has helped thousands find sobriety since 1977.
Known for its “no one turned away” policy, the house provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals battling alcoholism and addiction, regardless of their financial situation.
The funds raised will be used to restore and update the recovery house, ensuring it can continue to provide life-saving services for generations to come.
