This happy announcement comes on the heels of Smollett recently reaching a settlement with the city of Chicago in a civil case.
The city had sought to recover costs from its investigation into a 2019 incident, which authorities claimed was a staged hate crime. Smollett has consistently maintained his innocence regarding the incident.
