Vanity Wellness Center’s Armen Akopyan on recovery, hope and courage

Armen Akopyan, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Vanity Wellness states that he “got involved in recovery to help people,” in an interview with THE FIGHT.

“I have a deep understanding for people who are in a low point in their lives and need some help. Most people who come to recovery feel very stuck in life and most often will not be given an opportunity. I believe in caring for the individual, get the person support and the opportunity to become well.”

“There was a time when I needed help and to be treated with kindness dignity. I found my hope and courage and wanted to provide kindness and dignity to others and to be of service,” explains  Akopyan.
Well known for being LGBTQ friendly, Akopyan says that it upsets him that “LGBTQ community members struggle with finding a safe place to feel comfortable. It’s important for everyone to have a safe place to be for recovery.”

“Vanity Wellness Center is a premier drug and alcohol treatment center, we treat the whole person. We understand people often people have difficulty opening about themselves, we believe in creating a safe environment for all people.”

At the end of the day—says Akopyan—“one of the most comforting words in the universe are ‘me too.’ That moment when you find out that your struggle, is also someone else’s struggle, that you’re not alone, and that others have been down the same road.”
