Amy Schneider Ends Winning Streak Long-running Jeopardy! champion Amy Schneider lost in an episode that aired last month, ending the second-longest winning streak in the quiz show’s history, reports NBC News. She left the show with nearly $1.4 million in winnings. While her winnings and fame have been nice, Schneider told BuzzFeed News that her biggest reward has come from the celebration of her identity as a transgender woman.

“Don’t Say Gay” Bill A Florida bill that would limit classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity and encourage parents to sue schools or teachers that engage in these topics is speeding through the state House and Senate, reports ABC News. The “Don’t Say Gay” bill “would erase LGBTQ+ history and culture from lesson plans and it sends a chilling message to LGBTQ+ young people and communities,” said Melanie Willingham-Jaggers, the executive director of the national LGBTQ youth advocacy group GLSEN.

France Bans “Gay Conversion” Therapy France has become the latest country to issue a ban on “gay conversion” therapy, reports Attitude. The abusive practice, which seeks to change or alter someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity has been widely debunked by health organizations and medical experts.

Fashion Titans Thierry Mugler And André Leon Talley Have Passed Away French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, whose flamboyant creations transformed haute couture, has died at the age of 73, according to a message posted to his official Instagram account last month. The designer’s brand, Mugler, also confirmed the news via an Instagram post, describing its founder as “a visionary whose imagination as a couturier, perfumer and image-maker empowered people around the world to be bolder and dream bigger every day.”In another blow to the fashion world André Leon Talley, an icon of fashion journalism, has also died at the age of 73. Best known for his roles at Vogue as creative director and editor-at-large, he has long been considered one of the fashion industry’s most prominent figures. 

Carl Nassib: First Openly Gay Player To Play In NFL Postseason Game Out football player, Carl Nassib has made history again during the NFL’s Wild Card playoff game, reports Gay Times. Last year, Nassib made headlines when he came out as gay in a heartfelt Pride Month Instagram post. A few months later, the Las Vegas Raiders star became the first out player to earn a spot on the roster and play in a regular season. Nassib continued to make history on January 15th, when he became the first out player to participate in an NFL playoff game.

Man Pleads Guilty To Murdering Los Angeles Native Scott Johnson In 1988 Gay Hate Crime An Australian man has admitted murdering Scott Johnson, a Los Angeles mathematician who was found at the bottom of a Sydney cliff 34 years ago in a gay hate crime that was originally dismissed as suicide, reports Daily Mail. After a new police investigation, Scott White was charged with murder. At a pre-trial hearing in Sydney last month White repeatedly yelled in court that he was guilty of pushing Mr Johnson from the cliff.

Titus Low Arrested Over “Obscene Content” OnlyFans star Titus Low has spoken out following his arrest in Singapore for sharing ‘obscene’ content online, reports Attitude. The Singaporean model, who boasts 175,000 Instagram followers and began sharing sexually explicit content on online subscription platform OnlyFans last year, was arrested in December and charged with transmitting obscene materials by electronic means. Speaking out in a YouTube video last month, Low said “I think this conversation is far greater than me… [OnlyFans creators] create content for people who are our age and wish to have content they want to see. And all of this is on the basis of ‘everything is consensual.’”
