Save The Dates! DTLA PROUD FESTIVAL Returns For A “Love Fest” – August 25-27

The Downtown Los Angeles DTLA PROUD Festival is happy, and honored, to be back at the newly named Gloria Molina Grand Park for a second year in a row.

This year’s festival theme is “Love Fest” and is meant to celebrate the love that the LGBTQIA+ Community fosters and encompasses. The 3-day event will start with a free, all-ages day, on Friday, August 25 from 4pm – 10pm and will continue on Saturday and Sunday (August 26 & 27) as a ticketed 21+ event, each day from 12pm – 10pm.

According to their press release “the weekend festivities will transform Gloria Molina Grand Park and will overlook Los Angeles City Hall on Spring St. This Queer epicenter will represent, include and celebrate all those that make up the LGBTQIA+ community here in Downtown! The Love Fest will include Queer Vendors, LGBTQIA + Non-profits, Community Partners and of course everyone’s favorite downtown day party, SUMMERTRAMP!”

“Gloria Molina Grand Park will feature curated programming; with special intention and effort on segments of the community that often go underrepresented. We are introducing a new shared space for parents and queer families and will also feature programming for all people of color, trans, non-binary and femme communities during our LOVEFEST Mainstage Spectacular on Friday, August 25th and will be the free night of the festival.”

“Our mission remains the same: to create safe spaces and experiences to celebrate queer love and representation. With your help and participation, we are excited to continue to raise funds to enable us to continue to curate programing in DTLA PROUD’s COMMUNITY CENTER space – A.R.T. (Accessibility, Representation, Thrive). In preparation for this year’s festival, DTLA PROUD in collaboration with our new Community Center A.R.T., have been hosting free art events every Thursday night dubbed “ART Therapy ” – a fun free weekly art class that focuses on breaking barriers and drawing outside the box. ART Therapy is held every Thursday starting at 6pm at the A.R.T. Community Center. A.R.T is located at The BLOC in LA at 700 W. 7th St. Los Angeles CA 90017. Information about ART Therapy and well as other programing can be found at our website dtlaproud.org.”
