Lord Ivar Mountbatten became the first member of the Queen’s family to enter a same-sex marriage in September 2018, when he wed his partner James Coyle in a quiet ceremony, reports Pink News.
Lord Ivar, who has three children by ex-wife Penelope Anne Vere Thompson, said his family were not particularly bothered about him coming out.
The minor aristocrat, who is the Queen’s third cousin but not a member of the official Royal Family, told Tatler that “the older generation of my family have seen and done it all before. They were quite wayward in the 1940s.”
