Following the success of Heated Rivalry, creator Jacob Tierney is making a major career pivot. Leaving the hockey rink behind, Tierney is set to helm Alexander, a new Netflix series centered on the life of Alexander the Great.
Netflix has granted a straight-to-series order for the sprawling epic, which will focus on the lesser-known formative years of the legendary conqueror.
Beyond the intellectual and volatile mentorship between the young Alexander and Aristotle, the series will reportedly explore the complexities of Alexander’s personal life, including his deeply intimate and formative relationships with the men in his inner circle.
Production is expected to begin later this year, marking a bold shift for Tierney as he transitions from contemporary sports drama to the nuanced social and romantic landscapes of the ancient world.
