Complexions Contemporary Ballet is set to make its highly anticipated return to Los Angeles, gracing the stage of The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for a limited engagement in October 2025.
Following a two-year absence from the venue, the company, co-founded by the celebrated dance icons Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, will present a program that showcases its signature blend of technical brilliance, athletic energy, and emotional depth.
The program for the Los Angeles performances will include a retrospective of the company’s classic works in a piece titled “Retro Suite,” celebrating its 30-year history. Additionally, audiences will be treated to “For Crying Out Loud,” a raw and unfiltered piece set to the music from U2’s album, Songs of Surrender. The performances are scheduled to take place over three days, from October 24 to October 26, as part of the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center series.
This return is a significant event for Los Angeles dance enthusiasts, as Complexions is renowned for its diverse cast of dancers and its innovative approach to contemporary ballet that transcends traditional boundaries. The company’s unique style, which fuses classical ballet with a variety of modern dance forms, has earned it critical acclaim worldwide.
