CinePride Film Festival Debuts at Landmark Theatres Sunset, September 11-14

The inaugural CinePride Film Festival will take place in Los Angeles from September 11–14 at Landmark Theatres Sunset. 

The four-day event will showcase a diverse selection of queer cinema, including narratives, documentaries, and shorts.

Six films will have their world premiere at CinePride, and another 14 will make their U.S. or West Coast debuts. The festival aims to create an inclusive platform for LGBTQIA+ storytellers from around the world. 

Executive Director Cecilio Asuncion stated that the festival’s selections are a “strong testament that LGBTQIA+ voices and stories from around the world will not be erased!”

Featured films include:

Queer Bait A tense drama about a student’s relationship with a professor, executive produced by Cate Blanchett.

The Last First Time A story of a Mexican teenager’s first missteps in love and sex.

Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero An animated musical fantasy with an all-star voice cast, including Jinkx Monsoon and BenDeLaCrème.

A Life Inside Me An Indian film about a terminally ill father who wants to live as his true self—a woman.

And You Are…? A buddy film starring Jane Seymour about a grandmother with Alzheimer’s and her grandson.

Lip Sync Assassin A thrilling Filipino short film about a drag queen who moonlights as a killer.

In addition to film screenings, the festival will feature workshops, Q&As, and panel discussions. Awards will be given for categories like Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, and Audience Choice.
