In a recent feature from Gay Times, Taylor Zakhar Perez sparked a new wave of excitement for the upcoming Prime Video sequel, Red, White & Royal Wedding.

Speaking on the massive success of the first film, Perez noted that “the appetite is real” for a second installment that explores the next chapter of Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry’s globe-spanning romance.

According to Perez, while the first movie thrived on the tension of a forbidden affair, the sequel – directed by Jamie Babbit – will dive into the complexities of a long-term, public relationship.

Perez teased that the script focuses on the “real-world” challenges queer couples face, moving away from the “glossy story” to look at personal and couple dilemmas that are deeply relatable.

Perez shared that he likes Alex “a little bit more” in this film, describing him as having grown up and settled more into his identity following his graduation from law school.

Original author Casey McQuiston collaborated on the script with Matthew López and Gemma Burgess.

The sequel will feature Lena Headey as Princess Catherine (Henry’s mother), alongside Chloe Fineman and Henry Ashton.

Filming officially kicked off in London in January 2026, with a release expected later this year or in early 2027.
