In his debut outing as Saturday Night Live host, Heated Rivalry breakout Connor Storrie proved he had the “puck handling” skills of a veteran.
Storrie delivered a monologue that was both a masterclass in deadpan delivery and a diplomatic olive branch for Team USA’s men’s hockey team following their recent headlines.
The highlight of the evening came when Storrie’s comments about the “hardships” of learning to skate were interrupted by a parade of Olympic legends.
Brothers Quinn Hughes and Jack Hughes, fresh off their gold-medal victory in Milan, hit the stage to provide a reality check to the actor.
However, the biggest roar of the night was reserved for the icons of the women’s game: Olympic champions Hilary Knight and Megan Keller.
Having also clinched gold in Milan, Knight and Keller joined the Hughes brothers in a comedic standoff with Storrie.
While the men admitted they hadn’t quite caught up on the “spicy” drama of the show, Keller stole the moment by assuring the host, “Don’t worry, we saw your show,” officially giving the Heated Rivalry star the gold-medal seal of approval.
