LA LGBT Center’s “Highly Favored” Returns to Honor Black Queer Nightlife
On Saturday, February 21, the Los Angeles LGBT Center presents “Highly Favored,” an annual Black History Month celebration honoring the legacy of Black queer nightlife.
Inspired by Jewel’s Catch One and its founder, Jewel Thais-Williams, the evening serves as a powerful act of liberation and resistance.
The event features a special photography installation by Nikko LaMere at the Advocate & Gochis Galleries, exploring Black queer joy and identity, followed by an unforgettable “Dance Party Under the Stars” with high-energy sets from a premier lineup of queer DJs.
