“The Boyfriend” Season 2 On Netflix Premieres Tomorrow: A Slow-Burn Winter in Hokkaido

Huwei, “The Boyfriend”

Netflix has officially confirmed that The Boyfriend Season 2 will premiere tomorrow on January 13, 2026.

Shifting from a summer beach vibe to a “slow-burn winter romance,” the new season takes place at a cozy lodge in snowy Hokkaido, Japan.

The iconic “Green Room” returns, but this time it is a cozy, snow-bound lodge. The participants will live together for approximately two months.

The peppermint-colored coffee truck is also back, but instead of refreshing summer drinks, the men will be serving hot beverages against the backdrop of Japan’s northern winter.

The cast features 10 men ranging in age from 20 to 40. This season is notably more international, including participants from outside Japan.

15 episodes will be released in weekly batches (Jan 13 – Feb 3).

The original commentary team (MEGUMI, Chiaki Horan, Thelma Aoyama, Durian Lollobrigida, and Yoshimi Tokui) all return.
