Highly Favored, the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s annual Black History Month celebration, returns on Saturday, February 21 – honoring the vibrant legacy of Black queer nightlife in Los Angeles, inspired by the iconic legacy of Jewel’s Catch One.

Join them for a one-of-its-kind evening featuring:

  • A special installation by LA artist and photographer Nikko LaMere at the Advocate & Gochis Galleries, exploring Black queer identity and joy through the visual language of nightlife, grounding the broader program in cultural memory and lived experience.

  • An unforgettable dance party under the stars, soundtracked by high-energy sets from a lineup of queer DJs.

At a time when attacks on LGBTQ+ rights are on the rise, Highly Favored is more than a party—it’s an act of liberation and resistance. Come celebrate, connect, and dance the night away.

More event details will be announced soon. In the meantime, follow @lalgbtcenter on Instagram to stay up-to-date on the latest!
