Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy is publicly eyeing a role in the second season of the queer sports drama Heated Rivalry.
In a new New Yorker Q&A, the freestyle skier revealed that the series’ portrayal of closeted professional athletes deeply resonates with his own experience coming out at the height of his competitive career.
“The plot mirrors the double life I lived for years,” Kenworthy noted, praising the show’s authentic depiction of the “locker room psychological warfare” faced by LGBTQ+ athletes.
Following his successful transition into acting with American Horror Story: 1984, Kenworthy is now actively campaigning for a spot in the upcoming season, which adapts Rachel Reid’s The Long Game.
While casting for the 2027 premiere remains unconfirmed, industry insiders suggest Kenworthy could appear as a veteran mentor or a rival captain to stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
