Daniel Talbott’s Queer Love Letter to San Francisco Begins Production

Daniel Talbott (Welcome to Tool Shed, Midday Black Midnight Blue, and ABC’s The Connors) is set to direct the queer experimental feature in his hometown of San Francisco.

Production begins in February. Talbott is teaming up with frequent collaborators Andrew Klaus-Vineyard and Felix Mack who are producing, along with Orphan Andy Films.

Of the location, Talbott said “San Francisco was where I first fell in love with everything that has defined my life. It gave me a home and window into ultimate love, life, work and possibility. It gave me my first true home as a queer person.”

The World’s Coming in Fast is a film that explores both the beauty and devastation of heartbreak and sex amid the tides and rolling hills of the city. The film is a poetic, feral, visual, sex-positive love poem to the city by the Bay and its powerfully queer inhabitants.

Directed, produced, and shot docu-style in and around San Francisco, the film will take an experimental, non-narrative approach to celebrating a sanctuary city for queer lovemaking and exploration.

Talbott says that “Derek Jarman’s BLUE and Bela Tarr’s experimentation with non-scripted filmmaking are huge foundations for us approaching this film.”

THE WORLD’S COMING IN FAST is led by the producing team of Orphan Andy Films, Felix Mack and Andrew Klaus-Vineyard. The film is currently in pre-production and principal photography begins in February 2026.
