Crave has officially greenlit “The Blue Line,” a gritty hockey ensemble serving as the spiritual successor to the Heated Rivalry phenomenon.

Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla) stars as Benji Miller, a veteran defenseman and team captain whose mid-season coming out sparks a cultural shift within his AHL locker room.

Principal photography begins February 16, 2026.

Filming is set for Montreal and Ottawa, led by showrunner Jacob Tierney.

Moving away from traditional “closet drama,” the series focuses on modern allyship, professional grit, and the kinetic ease of living authentically.

Fans can expect guest appearances from Connor Storrie (Ilya) and Hudson Williams (Shane), bridging the narrative to the original series.

“The Blue Line”  is expected to premiere in late Fall 2026 on Crave and Max.
