The critically-praised film Drunken Noodles, an erotic and elliptical drama from Argentine filmmaker Lucio Castro (End Of The Century), is headed to Los Angeles as a key feature of OutfestNEXT.

The film follows Adnan, a young, gay art student who moves to New York for a summer internship and quickly finds himself drifting through a series of intimate and often erotic encounters—from cruising to a romance with a delivery courier.

Castro, known for his time-bending narratives, tells the story in non-chronological chapters that blur the line between reality and fantasy.

It serves as a sensual, contemplative coming-of-age story that explores modern queer desire, connection, and the intersection of sex and art, featuring unexpected flourishes of magical realism.

Drunken Noodles is Castro’s third feature, following his acclaimed 2019 debut, End Of The Century, and continues his fascination with the complex, circular nature of memory and time in queer relationships. It premiered earlier this year in the ACID section of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film’s screening is part of OutfestNEXT, a special program by Outfest—one of the world’s leading organizations dedicated to promoting LGBTQIA+ stories—that marks its return to live film events in Los Angeles. OutfestNEXT aims to showcase visionary and boundary-pushing queer cinema.

OutfestNEXT program takes place in Los Angeles Nov. 6-9.
