BREAKING: Kamala Harris Leaves Door Open for 2028 Presidential Run: “I Am Not Done”

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has given the strongest indication yet that she is actively considering a third run for the presidency in 2028, telling an international news outlet she is “not done” with politics.

In an interview with the BBC this month, Harris signaled she sees a future in elected office, dismissing poor early poll numbers and confirming her interest in remaining a central figure in the Democratic Party.

Key quotes from the interview that have fueled speculation include:

    •    On her political future: “I am not done. I have lived my entire career a life of service and it’s in my bones.”

    •    On the possibility of being the first woman president: When asked if a woman would occupy the White House in the lifetime of her grandnieces, Harris replied, “In their lifetime, for sure,” and when pressed on whether it would be her, she responded, “Possibly.”

    •    On early polling: Harris flatly dismissed current surveys that place her behind other potential Democratic contenders, stating, “I never listen to polls. If I had listened to polls, I never would have run for my first office or my second office—and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here in this interview.”

The former Vice President emphasized that she has not made a final decision on a 2028 campaign. However, her remarks, coupled with her earlier decision this year not to run for Governor of California, have been widely interpreted as steps to clear the path for another White House bid.

Harris is currently on an international tour promoting her memoir, 107 Days, which chronicles her brief time as the Democratic presidential nominee in the 2024 election.
