APLA Health, the non-profit organization providing HIV care, prevention, and sexual health services, announced the return of AIDS Walk Los Angeles on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
The event will kick off from West Hollywood Park under the theme: “Community Is the Cure,”emphasizing the vital role of unity in advancing the fight against HIV/AIDS and supporting affected individuals.
The return of the walk is framed as an urgent response to current political and economic threats facing HIV prevention and care.
“This event was born out of urgency, and it’s just as relevant today,” said Craig E. Thompson, CEO of APLA Health. “We’ve made incredible progress in the fight against HIV, but that progress is under direct threat from funding cuts and political attacks. Now is the time to show that we won’t be silenced or set back.”
AIDS Walk Los Angeles remains one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraising events globally, having raised nearly $100 million since its inception forty years ago.
The walk day will feature:
-
A live performance from RuPaul’s Drag Race star Heidi N Closet.
-
DJ sets and a bustling community booth area.
-
The walk will officially commence after the opening ceremony, moving through the streets of West Hollywood.
Proceeds directly fund APLA Health’s comprehensive services, including HIV specialty care, sexual health services, food and nutrition support, and crucial housing assistance for the community.
