A Tender Look at Young Love: Josh Cox’s New Queer Series Premieres on YouTube. WATCH!

Filmmaker Josh Cox, known for his work on projects like Summer of Mesa and Dino at the Beach, has released his new LGBTQ+ series, The Nature of Us, on YouTube. The six-episode limited series premiered on August 1st and has been releasing new episodes on a rolling basis.

The Nature of Us is a beautifully personal coming-of-age story that centers on two 18-year-old boys, Elly and Yona, in the autumn following their high school graduation. Elly (Benjamin Piers) is an artist struggling with his mental health, while Yona (Sean Manucha) is searching for what comes next in his life. The series follows their journey as they form a deep and meaningful connection, inspiring each other to pursue their passions.

The show is noted for its authentic and intimate portrayal of young love, with a subtle and meditative storytelling style. Filmed on location in Cape Cod, the stunning New England landscape serves as a crucial backdrop to the emotional depth of the series. Cox, who wrote, directed, shot, and edited the series himself, has stated that the project is deeply personal to him, drawing from his own experiences.

With its heartfelt narrative and nuanced characters, The Nature of Us offers a refreshing take on the queer coming-of-age genre. The series is available for free on YouTube, with new episodes releasing weekly.
