Former “Bachelor” star Colton Underwood, famously known for his “virgin bachelor” storyline and his subsequent public journey of coming out as gay, is set to return to reality television as the co-host of a groundbreaking new dating series on Hulu titled “Are You My First?”
He will be joined by fellow “Bachelor Nation” alumna Kaitlyn Bristowe. The show is slated to premiere on Monday, August 18th, with all ten episodes available for streaming.
“Are You My First?” promises a unique premise, bringing together what a press release describes as “the largest, hottest group of virgins ever assembled” in a tropical paradise. The series aims to provide a judgment-free environment for these individuals to “search for intimacy, love – and maybe their first.” Contestants will navigate romantic dates, revealing challenges, and new connections in their quest to find “the one.”
This marks Underwood’s first foray into hosting a reality series, a significant step following his public journey of coming out as gay in 2021 and the subsequent Netflix docuseries “Coming Out Colton.”
Underwood, who is now happily married to Jordan C. Brown and recently welcomed their first child, will offer a deeply personal and unique perspective to the contestants exploring their own “firsts” and navigating the complexities of intimacy and self-discovery. His own experiences with identity and growth, chronicled in his New York Times bestselling memoir “The First Time,” will undoubtedly inform his approach to guiding the show’s participants.
Produced by the teams behind hits like “Queer Eye” and “Love Island,” “Are You My First?” is expected to deliver both heartfelt moments and the signature drama associated with the reality dating genre. The series hopes to offer a fresh and authentic look at intimacy and connection, as these singles embark on a journey that for many, is a deeply personal exploration.
